We celebrated Sofia’s 1st birthday on 29th May, 2004. The party was at Shooter’s Bar & Grill here in Nagoya. We had the place to ourselves and there was a pretty big turnout. Chris, the owner of the place, did an excellent job of making the arrangements.

There was a play area for the kids, lots of balloons and other party décor, a juggler/entertainer, and a clown. There was also a buffet for the kids and a large birthday cake.

Everyone had fun. Reko, especially, had a great time. A lot of his friends were there. Sofia’s friends were there too but I’m not sure she really understood what the event was about. Still, despite not having here usual nap she was in a very good mood throughout the party.

A few weeks before the party, we were already practicing with Sofia to blow out the candle. Eventually, we got her to do it many times at home. Of course though, on the big day itself she didn’t do it so we all had to help her.

A big thank you to everyone who came to the party and to all those who sent birthday greetings!!!
